AENDERIA – Just hours after his victory in the Aenderian Vice Presidential election on the 22nd of September, Horatio Eden forced a proposition through the Aenderian legislature, the ALC, naming himself Acting President and forcing out previous incumbent Russell Gilzam.
The proposition alleged that President Gilzam’s “leadership and conduct” were insufficiently befitting to the office. The ALC motion that removes him from office also immediately appoints the Vice President – Eden himself – as President.
The motion removes Gilzam from office until the legislature is convinced that he can exercise the office competently again – though how long it will be until such a time is unclear, as it will depend entirely upon the changeable votes of public representatives, most of whom voted without much consternation to remove an increasingly unpopular chief executive.
This all takes place on the backdrop of a government investigation into the activities of Gilzam and his Democratic Party, amid allegations that they attempted to rig the Vice Presidential election in favour of the centrist movement.
