Aenderian sedition case finally moving forward as prosecution publishes evidence
Joshua Mullins, Attorney-General of Aenderia, has finally issued evidence pertaining to the sedition case against Aenderian Presydent Horatio Eden to the defense in the case.
Joshua Mullins, Attorney-General of Aenderia, has finally issued evidence pertaining to the sedition case against Aenderian Presydent Horatio Eden to the defense in the case.
Eden, who is representing himself, confirmed receipt of the evidence this morning, and a spokesperson for his side confirms that he continues to deny the allegations having considered it.
Eden is accused of acting illegally to bring down the administration of former Presydent Russell Gilzem, who earlier this week seceded illegally from Aenderia to form his own nation, the Kingdom of Auvenum, in light of his near-certain defeat at Eden’s hands during the presydential election, then scheduled for October 20th.
Eden’s own side is not submitting any evidence or witnesses. It is unclear when the first hearing in the case is due to take place, and Chief Justice Anthony Clark, who is hearing the case, has made no formal comment.
This development comes just days after the announcement by Eden’s government of a new constitutional document, the Fair Aenderia Plan, on which he campaigned during the run-up to the presydential election.
The evidence submitted by the prosecution is not currently publicly available. Eden, as well as his co-defendant, William Efton, have seventy-two hours to file objections to the charges, and no hearing date has been formally set.
